OTE 32: How this TOP RESOLUTION SECRET can make or break your 2021

Setting Resolutions

Are you sick of setting resolutions that you never really follow through on? In this episode of the Owning The Edge podcast, we’re going over my process of setting resolutions that ACTUALLY WORKS.

Making a Goal Isn’t Enough

People are so scared to set a vision of what they want to achieve.

They’re so worried that they’ll have this standard that they won’t meet.

They don’t want to feel like they failed at accomplishing something, but this is what stops us from actually achieving it!

Go beyond just setting a goal.

Think about:

  • »What achieving that goal would really look like
  • »When you will achieve that goal
  • »What your life will be like once you’re there

When you flesh out your vision, it affects how your subconscious mind helps you make decisions.

Don’t undershoot your goals!

You need to know where you want to go, be excited about it, and accept that it can be real.

If you create a vision and read it often enough, your subconscious will help you reach your goals.

Write it Down

Without judgment, take 5 minutes to write down everything you want for your business without questioning how. How big you want your audience, how much money you want to make, how much you want to expand, how many people you want to help.

Anything business-related that you want, write it down.

Take 5 to 10 minutes and brainstorm everything you want for your personal life. Your body, your relationships, your skills, everything else!

Once you have the two lists, take a quick break, and come back to it.

Take a look at your lists and ask what it is you want that you think you’ll realistically be able to achieve within the next 12 months.

Look at your lists and find about two things in each that you can say your life would be at a higher level if you accomplished them. These are going to be your absolute goals.

You’re much more likely to win when your time and energy is focused on a single thing rather than many different things.

If you’re experienced in setting goals and have a track record of accomplishing them, you can pick more.

Set Your Vision

Think about what your life would be if you actually accomplished the goals you set.

Imagine that you are your future self that has already accomplished these goals, and write your present-self a letter.

Read this letter you wrote yourself every day for the first week and tweak it as you go along. Make it more exciting, make it sound more real, be able to envision yourself there.

After that, read your letter every day. The more you do it, the faster it trains your subconscious mind to know where you’re going.

If you follow this process, you’re going to reach your goals and drastically change your life for the better.
